Existing affordable multifamily properties can get funding and assistance to upgrade to all-electric construction via one of two pathways:
- No-cost Direct Installation – Get a comprehensive assessment and no-cost installation services to replace existing gas appliances with energy-efficient electric models through an SVCE contractor.
OR
- Gap Funding Grants – Work with your selected contractor and receive up to $450,000 for project costs that aren’t covered by existing rebates and funding sources.
Eligibility:
Your multifamily property:
- Is a deed-restricted property*
- Must be enrolled in SVCE service
- Must have 5 or more units
- Is upgrading existing gas equipment
* Deed-restricted affordable housing refers to units that limit the rent or purchase price and require occupancy by low-income tenants for a set period of time. It is housing that has been registered to be exclusively affordable.
